Let me get this right.
You would like to merge (which is worse off since we a giving control to another company without a takeover premium) with a company that exposes you to political risk to a far greater degree - Alaska where greenies will cause a protest vote & delays; Bolivia where your assets are likely to be stripped off you when the silver prices rises. Before you know it you're back to one asset - BSG.
If you want to get educated, look at the Fraser Report or the like and get a feel for political / soveriegn risk - check out where Bolivia ranks. Then have a look at what Hugo Chavez is doing in Venezuala.
Then have a look at Coeur's graph. The market is telling them that either management is crap or their assets are too risky for their liking. This is happening on the back of a rising Ag price.
Norm & co. may have done a great job to get where we are now. But sorry, I have lost confidence in them now if they have agreed to this. This is a real balls up on their part.
