In a nut shell (hope the squirel doesn't mind) the problem with charts is they don't account for announcements.
Yes they do sorry.
A chart represents the sum total of all that is happening and is known about the stock (including inside information).
The price at any given time represents the balance between those buy ad those selling .. and the current agreed "meeting point".
Tell me how then, that even with VCR, the volume picked up significantly "before" any announcement was made.
NOw, whilst I dont go at all for Fib lines/retracements/magical numbers, predictions, charting is a viable tool as long as people dont make it what it isnt.
