Hedge Fund Liquidation To Hit Qantas - Traders
2343 GMT [Dow Jones] Hedge fund liquidation will hit Qantas (QAN) shares today,
possibly resulting in drop below A$5.00, after APA failed to get 50% acceptances by
Friday deadline. Senior institutional trader cites Sydney Morning Herald article claiming
foreign ownership is about 65% vs 49% limit: "The big point is going to be that
foreign ownership is well above 49% cap. Foreigners who were last to buy Qantas will be
the first to sell." Says hedge fund selldown could cause drop below A$5.00, with
local institutional buyers likely to wait. "Hedge funds are going to be put on the
