It depends on what you mean by combining them.
Off course charts can be useful in showing the history of a particular stock, but in my time I have seen many turn into chart freaks, ignoring the fundamentals......Always put fundamentals first, and then try to interpret charts around those fundamentals...... usually becomes too difficult for most, and they discard the fundamentals.....
