Richard Hill was also on the Board of Biota. He managed to destroy hundreds of millions of dollars of shareholder value and scores of Australian jobs in several critically ill-advised decisions. That company is now effectively dead.
I'm not sure why he is still Chairman of Sirtex. In particular, if he is Hunter Halls' representative he has lost support as they aren't significant shareholders anymore.
If GW acted inappropriately, he did it on RHs watch. Losing the US and Asian heads of business signifies there were problems with GW. Again, the Board should have been involved.
If he did it with approval, then it's worse.
I sincerely hope that a major activist investor in Sirtex emerges and fixes it from the top. The science is fine.
