komatiitic rocks geos opinion please

  1. 755 Posts.
I have been doing a bit of background research into the 'unique' komatiitic rocks of the Polar Bear tenement; it appears they are actually not that unique - found in the greenstone belt near Kambalda, near Widgiemootha, and Yilgarn craton. Also found in Canada near the Great Lakes where there is an existing palladium (mainly) mine. However there is not a lot of info about their association with PGEs. Usually much more associated with copper and nickel. Is it possible there could be commercial grades of PGE at Polar Bear? There is no mention of any nickel or copper there. Would not that be a bit unusual for komatiitic rocks?

Not upramping or downramping; just after more info...

Certainly the grades found at Halls Knoll in the PB area look quite promising...
