While I accept we all have different likes and dislikes, the only pet for me is a dog. ( or two )
It's for a good reason, why they are called men's best friend.
My dog doesn't smell, doesn't destruct garden , only barks when excited.
Picking up poo, is very little inconvenience , considering all the love one gets from them.
And I think you greatly misunderstood my post.
My dog doesn't harass/chase bikes, and I wouldn't let him for the same reason you mentioning - fear of accidents.
All I said he barks excitedly, and would love to run with them.
I guess you could be one of those people, who could/would yell abuse at him.
But I guarantee, he would love you too, as he loves everyone, we ever meet.
On our walks, he "chats up" and stops everyone he can.
But most important thing is the love of each other.
Since I lost my husband, my little boy is the most important man if my life.
By now I did accept that I have to live without my man, but I could never-ever live without a dog.
