There have been some very high level discussions between the Syrian Kurds and the Russians leading to further commitments of support and condemnation of the Mad Sultan.
Turkey is a significant potential ally and trading partner but as a country does it have the status to trump [pun intended] other considerations. One thorn in the side of the Mad Sultan is that the Kurds and their associates have most of the oil & gas.
