Hot on the heels of our zircon enthusiasm last week, we have further news from one of the companies named as being in the forefront of this surging sector.

Back in 2002, the then-listed Ticor took over Magnetic Resources for all its promising mineral sands ground close to the TiWest mine north of Perth. Included in that was the 190sq km Bootine tenement.

Strangely, Ticor did little with Bootine, sinking just 10 holes before relinquishin the tenement. Yesterday Image Resources announced it had picked up Bootine and, in the first week of holding the ground, had identified 30 drill targets.

Here's the rub. Magnetic Minerals and Bootine were originally spun out of Image, so the tenement has gone full circle. And don't imagine that Image will be as dilatory as Ticor: the junior has drilled 700 holes at Cooljarloo North just up the road and has established a substantial resource there. It can't wait to get started at Bootine.
