On Bluetooth devices it often helps if you only just using the audio functionality to not connect to the app provided and just play the music and/or switch off mobile data - give that a try -on a straight line of sight it should help you significantly. The other tip is if you are streaming music ( not downloaded music) the speed of the stream and your signal strength on a mobile phone will also affect the bluetooth - let me know how you go.
