I'm not the person to ask.... I'm a novice about the world of shorting. This is the first time I've seen the gross shorts exceed the daily trade volume.
The graph lags behind the data. The graph goes up to last Friday 28 April, and the data up to yesterday 4 May.
Total sales yesterday were 972.6k, but total shorts were 2,285.4k. I haven't seen any figures for sales after the market closed, but I'm assuming there was a chunk that changed hands after hours (can anyone verify?).
