First of all, you need to understand how options work; Options are not like shares at all, they are derivatives of a particular stock, The only value in the Options is if the stock shares are actually moving in the correct direction, then you'll see intrinsic value building up to the same value as the stock shares, when it is in the money or same as the stock price.
Options has limited time to which they lose their usability, and then they expire worthless if not sold or exchanged for one with a longer expiry date, but this has to be done in a timely way or lose everything.
