Hi Rickster, Kolwezi is a totally different mine and a long way from Kipushi. The tailings that CFE have access to are only the end part outside of the lease of the old Kipushi plant. The old Kipushi plant & it's underground are being upgraded by Ivanhoe mines and Gecamines (The state owned miner who seems to have their hand in everything as JV partners, in fact if someone is going to sell they have to get first offer). The larger old Kipushi plant and underground mine are totally separate to the smaller Kipushi plant that CFE is going to use. The tailings although the small part outside the Ivanhoe lease area are still pretty large and CFE will also be doing the environment a favour by cleaning it all up as it is the final stage prior to entering into waterway.
