OSH is gearing up to co-develop a small scale LNG plant (ssLNG) using uncommercialised gas resources in the Western province of PNG. They will drill Kimu and Barekiwa gas fields this year with resources from these fields to be part of the supply for a planned Oil Search/Horizon/Repsol (KPL?) small scale LNG plant (ssLNG). OSH say that they envisage an output of .5 to 1.5 MTPA to supply the East Coast of PNG and mines. There will be plenty of room for growth going forward. Stanley and P'yang resources will be part of the feed. By the end of this year we will have a lot more clarity around the ssLNG project both in terms of supply/demand and economic viability but this project looks well supported by Botten. It's not nearly another PNGLNG project but will still be very profitable. Just as importantly it will provide electrical generation gas to an impoverished part of PNG and defuse royalty tensions. It's both an economics and social project that is 100% supported by the PNG Cabinet.
