    Hi Orga et alii,

IMHO as well it is relevant to BLR as it is stated in the article below if indeed one of the "Big Dogs" are looking at acquiring EMC it will "//move valuations higher for the whole sector."// Please see article below.

    Cheers,

    Brantley

Energy Metals may have attracted uranium big dogs

Andrew Willis, May 18, 2007 at 5:28 PM EDT

  2. There are two big dogs in uranium: Cameco and France’s Areva. Could one of them be hunting among the junior Canadian resource plays?

  3. Energy Metals Corp. revealed today that it is in takeover talks. The company, known as EMC, is worth $1.3-billion, and its stock was on a tear prior to the announcement.

  4. What EMC didn’t say is who came calling. Hedge fund Leeward Capital speculated last week that Cameco and Areva are sniffing around. If either is the potential buyer, that would change the dynamics of the sector.

  5. To date, most of the activity in uranium has been mergers of small-to-mid-tier players that aspire to market leadership. If the biggest companies in the sector have not done takeovers. If they are now shifting into acquistion mode, they promise to move valuations higher for the whole sector, as Camecoa and Areva will pay premium prices and offer up cash, not paper.

  6. By next week, EMC should reveal all, and the takeover dynamics of the uranium market will become clearer.
