let your wife do the driving in the future, I just spent 6 days driving through hokkaido, didn,t hear a peep from my wife as she elected to drive, such a control freak,but it was very relaxing for me. we both had international driving licences but in the interests of world peace,KEEP THEM BUSY and enjoy the scenery,next time.
terrible place to drive 80 km per hour speedlimits on most highways and50 in all towns, though the locals don,t seem to worry about them
