They do fall over time hence why its a rate.
I think the initial production rates are lower due to small sample space and also i would have thought there would have to be some diagnostics run, also oil testing etc in this first 30 day period.
Im not well versed on this so just trying to use simple logic plus definitions outlined by investopia, happy to be corrected.
