I and others had agreed by email to a deal favoring a certain company, but then KDR bounced back with a far better deal which agreed to accept. On informing (by email)the first co. that we were taking KDR's offer they commenced legal action, but ultimately withdrew. Our barrister had previous success in this area. Money has to change hands or have a water tight agreement in place otherwise!
