Nobody here is in a position to have any evidence, but we can be suspicious...

The time period at issue is the first 2 weeks of April, where after being fairly steady for 4 months it went down continuously for 12 days straight with no news, without an increase in shorters, seemingly in anticipation of something happening. Both shorters and longs where caught off guard.

It could perhaps be explained as a change in sentiment as it dropped through a support level, but shorters would normally be all over that, and it would normally drop a lot faster.

It could also be explained by someone inside who was preparing reports for the board to review leaking them to a select few institutions who slowly sold down their holdings.

It did not look like a normal trading pattern to me, but only ASIC would be in a position to have an informed view.
