However, hottuna with no scientific qualifications and no publications has been vociferous and constantly critical over a long period of time about Mesoblast's science and technology. And yet there is no requirement or mechanism here (within Hot Copper) whereby his lack of credentials can be exposed.
@dingle,
By the very same token, there is no requirement or mechanism for the credentials (or lack thereof) of posters - who are vociferously and constantly supportive of the stock over a long period of time.
Welcome to the democratic world of stock discussion forums. Where the thing that matters is logical argument supported by opinion based on fact and precedent.
"What I consider relevant are his qualifications, or lack thereof, in the fields of science & technology that Mesoblast is involved with."
What about the qualifications, or lack thereof, of other posters?
And not just in the fields of science and technology...what about other aspects to MSB that also determine its investment attributes?
Instead of spending so much time criticising, and trying to discredit, other posters who happen to not share your views on MSB , maybe your time would be better spent thinking about all aspects of the MSB business - its technology, its strategy, its supply chain, its end-markets, the competitive landscape, the regulatory environment, management strategies and alignment with shareholders, and - yes - even its capital structure and the way it funds its business.
But if you insist on remaining preoccupied with the credentials of @hottuna et al, below follows an example of the type of work he/she does:
https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/an...3323640/page-16?post_id=23660148#.WRkB8Yh95hE [*]
It warrants mentioning that that stock which he/she shorted subsequently lost 75% of its value in a period less than 2 months.
I don't know about you, but I tend to want to listen to people who are successful at what they do, not ignore them.
So to answer your dramatic thread title, "what is @hottuna?, one very reasonable answer is, "He/she a short-seller who does his homework somewhat thoroughly."
[*] This is one of many posts that substantively argued the case for short-selling of the stock in question.
