Mr Weaven also called for strong leadership from the Federal Government to harness the super funds to invest in "projects of national significance". He said industry funds had " a strong appetite for such investment (and) can take a long term view".
He cited the proposed geothermal power developments in South Australia, which he said could provide 25 per cent of base-load electricity in eastern states, with zero greenhouse gas emissions. "Such a nation-building project could be feasible, provided our leadership has visionary timelines."
