    I have LinkedIn premium which shows whether the company has more or less staff year on year. Sales employees are down 26% and engineering down 42% in the past 12 months. That means people are quitting or getting laid off and not being replaced.

    Both resources contribute revenue. Engineering by doing billable work and sales by selling product and services.
