There undoubtedly is a large element of that in President Trump's current position. It's amusing to see exactly the same posters that have criticized the President for being 'anti-Muslim' are now having a crack for being too friendly. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.
I'll be disappointed if the Saudis have not been given an attitude readjustment by President Trump's second term but no reason to annoy them just for the sake of it at the moment.
