The oil industry will be around for a long time yet, but I know that the refinery industry are very concerned at the future impact of electric cars. I therefore find it surprising that the presentation predicted only 6% of cars will be electric by 2035. Not sure who they consulted on that, but it simply looks wrong. Lithium battery costs are falling quickly and it's only a matter of time before they are a major disruptive factor in transportation and utilities.
