I'm no expert on the higher cap stocks. But I presume he was saying that if the US stocks are paying less dividends than ASX stocks, then the assets of US companies (cash or business reinvestment) are growing faster relative to ASX stocks. A bit like compounding interest in a bank account vs withdrawing the interest you earned.
