Years ago polystyrene was getting a bad rap and everyone quit on poly coffee cups. Saner minds "proved" the poly cup was green after all, but the damage was done.
What a lot of rubbish this is about banning incandescent lamps. Some gooses are walking around with their chests puffed out, proud of how green they are. LOL
The trouble with plastic bags, and plastic in general, is disposal at sea. Miles of fishing line, old nets and plastic bags play havoc with marine life. Whales and turtles are particularly vulnerable to ingesting plastic bags. (Turtles are said to mistake them for jellyfish)
You could say "education" but most people don't give a rat's. Even some fishermen (amateur and pro) are blaze'.
