It is also being used by dentists in Australia. The issue with it is that the patient exhales the fumes back to the dentist. My wife is a dentist and will only use it in extreme cases where it is the only way to calm/treat a patient.
Unfortunately 2 of my kids have had traumatic injuries and for them, in an ambulance, it has been a blessing.
