My understanding is that the micro-stims were purely to combine with logging data (from earlier in this drill) so as to design the optimal frac. We all know that 2v is essentially a company maker/breaker (though some will disagree and nuance that statement), so the fact that this conservative management have determined that the micro-stim will add no value to the frac design is very, very telling. They know what they need to know, and that information is more positive on flow rate potential than previously thought.
Why? They have identified the most hydrocarbon-soaked zones(more oil); and those zones have a higher pore pressure than initially thought(more 'push'); and those zones have a consistent stress profile (more predictable frac as compared to varying stress profiles); and pre-existing planes of weakness (like a pre-existing crack in your windscreen will spread further under minimal 'stimulation').
So it is not just 'higher pressure' that makes the micro-stim redundant....it is all the factors in conjunction. So it would seem.
