Simon..............I am sure Biota are confident about Lani.............I just found this Government article about Biota.

    It actually distinguishes, between............

    1. Aerogen which is the Lani under the NIH, in trials in the UK (US Government)

    2. Sankyo in Japan that are in partnership with Hovione and Biota..............

Now Sankyo/Biota have 2 Lani compounds (CS 8958) EU and CS8958 JP and this is the compound in license with Hovione and here I am not sure about if Hovione or Sankyo are going to get it to market, I actually think Hovione have the License for the Inhaler and manufacturing the drug and maybe Sanyko are going to distribute it themselves. It was (Under Application) up untill February, 2007 and now it has disappeared off the Sankyo site.

I have found evidence that as of 2 April, 2007 it is still CS 8958.............I was looking for a commercial name? So my guess is it is going to be released into the Japan/Asian market...............Biota did tell me that they don,t need to do as many trials in Japan as anywhere else, but I don,t know if one set of trials is enough for the Japanese market.?

Also Biota have a compound of Lani (Flunet) they are working on, so we have 4 Lead compounds of Lani now and other follow-up compounds.
