So long as investors didn't buy during the 'boom' then they have done well. Any recent investors who bought in the first half of 2016 has done exceptionally well.

All about timing. We didn't buy any over the mining boom period, so all long term holdings have done well enough. Additionally bought some myself in 2016 and did well. I am hoping to get a few more thousand sub $21. But may just jump in around recent lows as I have quite a bit of spare funds right now.

There are not a lot of stocks on the ASX that you can say will be around in 50 years and know they will survive whatever digital disruptions thrown at it. Although the company could have been managed better during the boom. It's still a solid safe company.
