many decades of poor capital management by the sector as a whole + the manipulation of the gold price often capping gains

still - at least it generally follows economic data at trend level. flip the usd gold chart on its head and compare it to the USD TWI - quite a strong resemblance

just a challenge when the day to day volatility - esp when you get manipulated outcomes - can blast you out of the water even when the trend call is right
