I started playing round with shares about 10 years ago, and my reluctance to sell at a loss was a real expensive lesson for me to learn, as it goes against human nature, to admit "I sure stuffed that one up"

Yes I still remember the day I took it on the nose, and finally sold my "accumulated dogs" was like a great burden lifted from my shoulders !

Back then I would sell my "winners" thinking I was such a smarty pants, but hold on to my "loosers" in the hope they would come back up (end result, portfolio = "accumulated dogs" ) I think it is the sort of thing that everyone must learn for themselves at their own pace.
