Redundant job in the future in my opinion. Younger generation doesn't care for analysts so much. They are tech savy and dont need to pay someone x $10k's every year to manage their portfolio or 1% commission for a dart board of ASX blue chips. Will always be a need for the dumb who inherit significant wealth, but so many of those jobs are going every year as the new generation don't need this information.

You wont go bankrupt buying BHP, but you probably won't outperform the market unless you buy the troughs (ie like i did in first half 2016). Still nothing wrong with holding this stock for the long term at its current price. Hence I bought more as I have a heap of spare cash from a gift. Otherwise may have looked elsewhere if after short term gains.
