I think the rabbi is unsuitable for the post, whether he retracts or not. That was a sick statement, and shows a sick mind. Sure, rape is a weapon of war..... look what the Serbs did........ look what the Russians did when they occupied East Berlin, East Germany...... where Germans were slitting the throats of women and girls to save them from the mass rapes they were about to endure. Sure, it has happened, is happening now, no doubt, and will happen in the future. But for someone of the standing of a Chief Rabbi to okay it? Dont let that guy near kids.
His statement was on a par with that of the Saudi's head imam, when he passed a decree that Saudi males can eat their wives if truly hungry, after all, what is a woman for, other than to serve a male (words to the effect)in any way the male deems fit.
