Just like it is the prerogative for anyone - holder and non-holder alike - to post or not to post on any forum.
For example, I own shares in a certain stock which the other day provided a somewhat cryptic earnings update.
Several non-holders of the stock posted their interpretations of the announcement, some of which had not occurred to me.

It happens often that I learn things about companies from non-holders.
