Shareholders discovered [a bit later] that GTT had sold down their holdings to near zero just prior to the Nov announcement ....
The shareholder backlash was very well organized on HC [several top 20 holders were prepared to vote it down] ... imo, that's why the thing was withdrawn. What followed very soon after was a high volume desertion of the stock by short term/daytraders .... GTT took that opportunity to reinstate their position.
