Qatar has made some bold and provocative moves which threaten SA, namely a military alliance with both Turkey and Iran. The new hard line SA leaders are drawing a line in the sand.
They are a sovereign nation. They can do as they please. Turkey is not on Saudi Arabia's border, Qatar is a tiny nation.
A threat to Saudi Arabia would be Qatar giving Saudi Arabia an ultimatum that it has to respond to in 10 days.
Where is the imminent threat to Saudi Arabia?
The danger is that we keep saying "oh, it's the middle east" and letting that be an excuse for constant breaches of international law. Australia will be on the side-lines right up until the point that the US builds up one of it's 'coalitions of the willing' and then Aussie troops will be sent to bleed out in the sand again, as they have been doing since 1914.
