An interesting point regarding comparisons with the 87 senario is that the last time the market touched the 200d MA was the July 86 correction. After that the market experienced a few pullbacks and only three times during perid July 86 to the crash did the market pierce the 50d ma - twice in that May-June 87 pullback period - these pullbacks were generally shortlived. Could point to the possibility that we may not get a serious (ie 10%) correction b4 an 87 style blowoff top begins?
