The hydrocarbon load is going to be transferred from the motor vehicle to power stations that run on hydrocarbons to power the things that run on batteries. Try building a 120 megawatt power station replacement that runs 24/7 ..wind....no....solar...no... Nuclear ..yes. Burn coal its safer.
