I see where you're coming from but taking SGH out of it for a second you ask 'what do you do when you're in a bad investment?'.... I say you absolutely "cry and exit" then you can simply wait for an opportunity to re-enter after it turns the corner (if it comes). Everyone gets investments wrong and IMO it's just as much about minimising losses as it is about picking winners.
Originally I started looking at SGH because I was interested in how 'cheap' it looked for obvious reasons, decided it wasn't for me. Companies on the brink of VA can prove great investments. Not looking to cross promote but CKA is a good recent example of this, no revenue and debt it couldn't service but potential for future cashflow. They are all different though.
