You seem to be a little sensitive to fact that I dare to question the validity of technical analysis. To put mind your mind at rest, I started my trading career 15 years ago a firm believer in the casting of the technical runes. I bought books, attended lectures, did courses, and downloaded reams of paper on the subject. I traded with mixed success until I realised that the charts were secondary to the examination of fundementals. At that point I became a technical analysis apostate. So while I am a non-believer I do understand where you are coming from (I certainly spent a lot of money finding out).

To correct you on one point, quantitative analysis does not prevent you from making a prediction. It merely states that any extrapolation outside the limit of the data is invalid on its own. You are still able to form a hypothesis, but this must be backed by other information.

Since you have the gift of prediction, could you please give me the date and depth of the next low for the XJO. Success within reasonable error bands will earn you my total and unequivical admiration
