No worries EL, it pays to be skeptical.
Dr Reid put it to me himself, and explained it like this - PTR will be needing to drill at least 3500m, and possibly closer to 4000m. The rigs available in the future would be suitable for drilling to 3000m, maximum. He said risking those extra 500m-1000m could disrupt the project in the same way as HAB1 was when it was drilled with inferior equipment. Getting it right the first time is critical.
