It's certainly part of it. Turnbull sacrificed his principles and pandered to the hard right within the party so he could be PM. He stands for nothing. But the public would still much rather have him than Abbott, which speaks volumes about the latter. As for the Liberal Party itself, they don't know who they want as leader and the another coup would see them slaughtered at the next election. The budget continues to blow out and they've run out of ideas after slugging the most vulnerable and giving the multi nationals a big tax break. Meanwhile, the prospect of Bill Shorten being PM fills no-one with any confidence.

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard that Turnbull stands for nothing but the public would rather have him than Abbott . The public are not that stupid .
