It's definitely game on.
I believe they have pretty much ticked all the boxes for the power station to go ahead. Going off memory the break even cost of power generation is 5c or a bit under per kwh & the going rate in Zambia is 10c or more.
This is where it gets interesting, Zesco is the power provider to FQM & most of it comes from hydro & when it doesn't rain which has been happening they have to import power at a much
higher cost. FQM want to do a $1.5b upgrade to their mine & to do that they need more power & security of that power. To me FQM don’t have to many other options.
AFR 25% of the project on discounted cash flow basis is worth about 50c to 60c a share so imo why would FQM want to carry AFR . The next few weeks could get interesting.
