Many of us have been wondering lately about why the sudden change of plans re: drilling resuming in Uganda mid year & now focusing on the Patterson prospect instead. I've seen all sorts of theories put forward. But don't think anyone has yet mentioned the war in South Sudan. The border of which is not too far from the Sipa tenements.
Could it be that the company now has concerns about the safety of any personnel placed on the ground there ?
The company always seems reluctant to report anything in the way of bad news. Instead preferring to avoid mentioning it at all.
Safety of personnel has to be first & foremost. I think we would all agree on that. Corruption is a way of life in most African countries. Whether it is in the soft form of providing donations & equipment to locals schools & villages or in the hard form of direct backhanders to officials in the mines dept.
Maybe the Patterson does genuinely provide a bigger prospective bang for our buck. Maybe our money is better spent there than in Uganda.
Personally i think we are now concentrating on the Patterson & not Akelikongo for a number of reasons. Some of which the company is reluctant to mention.
