It is not his job to educate you, and he is not allowed to speculate in the announcements - it is a new kind of play and they don't actually know for sure what these things mean, though they may have a good idea.
One thought might be that the share price is the least of his problems right now, I can't see any chance of a hostile takeover and the ultimate prize is buyout, with intermediate prize of farm in.
Proof will be in the pudding, either there will be economic oil or the won't, everything else is a side issue.
