That would indeed be ironic. I'm a little surprised that CDE has taken this long.
Trading halt was called for BSG on 2 May. BSG isn't exactly a complex operation at this stage of its life and Mexico's a lot closer to Coeur d'Alene than it is to Australia, so taking into account the fact that CDE must have done some investigations prior to the announcement, you would think the due diligence could be sorted out fairly quickly.
Originally, DD was to have concluded by 3 June. That date passed and nothing was heard...until 12 June, when BSG announced that they had agreed to extend the period out to 17 June. That day came and went, then on 22 June we hear it's been further extended to 29 June. The next day it's, "No hang on - there was a misunderstanding - it's actually 3 July."
So, either something's up or CDE are just being slack.
