Your post brought to mind another company who used to be a neighbour of Entek's at Niobrara, Emerald Oil and Gas.

In 2015 they shifted their focus from Oil/Gas, and eventually they transformed into a gold explorer. It seems to have worked out for them. The EMR share price is double what it was since they announced the move into gold.

At a glance, it would appear that Entek are hoping to copy the Emerald template.

I do wonder about the wisdom in selling oil and gas assets when sentiment is at rock bottom. When you look at the share price of oil companies, you can't help but see parallels to the situation with mining stocks in 2014, and we know what happened thereafter.

That said, precious metal prices have been a bit deflated of late, so there might be some bargain assets to be found in that sector as well.
