My error re page number, I quoted from p.31.

re the "strong possibility of a second port at Oakajee," I assumed "following construction of the first port at Oakajee" and did not consider the port at Geraldton as being the "first", that was just the way I read it.

Going back to MMX ASX ann 20Dec06: "Murchison and Midwest Corporation are continuing to develop their separate consortiums, in order to facilitate the investment required for the construction and operation of the rail and port infrastructure."

Both consortiums have invested big $$$ in the planning of port and rail infrastructure. Considering the vast tonnages projected to go through the new deep-water port as compared to Geraldton, a dual port doesn't stretch the imagination. But best not to jump the gun, may just be a quirk of wording that I completely misread.
