Well that's not true (at least in NSW which is where any legal proceeding would occur).
The offended party must simply prove that a person/s may reasonably infer a defamatory remark refers to themself.
The company itself may also sue on the basis of injurious falsehood if it feels its reputation has been besmirched by the publication of libelous materials online.
Hotcopper retains all posts for 6 years under law, and would not hesitate for a second to hand them over if requested under deposition
